An exciting combination of high design and high performance, STEEL-IT presents the refined look of lightly burnished steel, and is suitable for a wide variety of surfaces and applications. Different formulations allow you to choose the coating that is right for the environment where where structural steel elements are present. The STEEL-IT formulation that is right for your project should be chosen based on the following factors:
No matter what your specific needs, the technical team at Stainless Steel Coating and our distributors can help you choose the best, most cost-effective coating for your application. The Polyurethane formulation of STEEL-IT is best for use on exterior features that are exposed to sunlight or other UV sources such as exterior doors, hand railings, and window mullions. For outdoor structural steel and other features that undergo UV exposure—like outdoor structures—choose the polyurethane formulation of STEEL-IT. Because both the STEEL-IT polyurethane primer and topcoat are each a single-component coating, the polyurethane formulation also boasts the easiest application process of the various formulations.
The Epoxy formulation of STEEL-IT coating systems offers a combination of value and durability while maintaining our commitment to architectural aesthetics. The epoxy system offers a degree of corrosion and wear resistance that makes it appropriate for the toughest environments. While the epoxy system is recommended for use on any interior features including structural steel, it is rugged enough to use on platforms, staircases, railings, or any other surface subject to regular wear and abrasion. STEEL-IT’s epoxy formulation is an all-purpose coating with a strong value proposition: less product needed for adequate coverage, and extended longevity.
STEEL-IT High Solids Epoxy System offers the same value, durability, and commitment to architectural aesthetics as the STEEL-IT Epoxy System, while also meeting the needs of environments where VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are regulated. The high solids epoxy system is a low VOC system, making it appropriate for jurisdictions and uses where requirements dictate lower levels of certain solvents.
